Store Passwords Safely with KeePass

Keeping track of a plethora of usernames and passwords is an ever increasing challenge. The idea of storing these online is laughable when the site is begging for a hacker to poke their nose in and retrieve that valuable data. KeePass offers an open source solution (which means it’s free to use) with some fairly stout features. The database can be stored on your local machine, a shared server or external media.

I like the portable version which is installed, and runs entirely on, a flash drive.

Here is their site on Portable Apps.

Mike Thanks for mentioning it. I thought of that one too. The whole suite you mentioned on port16.com is excellent and certainly the portable version of this app is a slick idea. How much safer to keep it off your machine.

I’ve been holding all that info in my head for years if you can believe that. Just too much info to retain any more. So far, I really like the app.
