Ready to launch a new site design but want to make sure it is cross browser compatible? Browsershots is a great free open-source online service that makes screenshots of your design in several different browsers.

Using the power of distributed computing, when your job is up in queue a number of computers will open your site in their browser and upload your screenshots to the central server.

The choices are staggering really - choose screen sizes, colors, java, flash and more. Really very helpful and highly recommended.

If only developers could agree on how a browser interprets web pages. Then we wouldn’t need this site. But until then, it beats having Firefox,Opera,Safari and IE7 installed, which is the way I am doing it now.

Great idea, but I’d not have a clue what to do about it when my blog doesn’t work in any browser.. like now.. it doesn’t like IE!

@Lady Banana - what problems are you seeing in IE? 6 and 7? It looks good in FireFox?

@Lady Banana, I took a gander in IE 7 and IE 8 with good results for both. I wonder if it’s an IE 6 issue.
